Many students have several commitments that they are doing at once while in college such as school work, sports/extracurricular activities, work, and social life activities. With these busy schedules, issues can arise if not properly managed. Time management allows students to develop skills that allows for a healthy balance between intensive course work, work, and social life activities. Additionally, time management allows college students to improve their overall health, their academic performance, develop life skills for future jobs, and improving productivity during the day.
When developing our lesson plan topics, we were asked to explore how time management intertwines with Universal Design Language (UDL), what assistive technology could help, how it helps accessibility for all learners, and how it can impact a diversify group of learners' needs.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) promotes a equal learning experience for all learners by proactively removing barriers in learning. Time management is the ability to manage time effectively and efficiently to be the most productive throughout the day. Utilizing time management apps such as Notion, Microsoft To-Do, or Google Calendar allows for learners to organize, plan, and execute task in a timely. In result these apps with proper planning and execution will reduce the cognitive overload place on student's and their busy schedules. Furthermore, time management can help reduce the learning cognitive, emotional, and behavioral barriers that would negatively impact the student's academic performance in their higher education experience.

Time management apps are consider assistive technology to support students in organizing and planning their busy schedules on a day-to-day, week-to-week, and month-to-month. Apps such as Notion, Goblin Tools, and TickTick are a few examples applications that can provide visual and auditorial features to support all learner's needs when organizing their tasks.
Time management can support diverse population needs in higher education in multiple ways. Below are a few examples:
Learners who get overwhelmed with big assignments: Learners who get easily overwhelmed can use time management skills to help break material down into manageable sections. By breaking the material into smaller chunks, learners can interactive with the material without being overwhelmed about the entire task.
Provides visual aids: Many time management applications like TickTick, Google Calendar, and Goblin Tools provide a visual timers, calendars, to-do list where the learner can input the task that needs to be completed. Visual aid provides an understanding of time and how to manage from one task to the next without increasing stress.
Structure and predictability: By using time management applications, students do not have to guess what task is next because it has been writing out for them. This allows the student to know what to expect and focus. In result, the cortisol levels stay low, lowered cognitive overload, and can focus on task at a time.
Time management is a skill that everyone should learn how to do effectively during college to enjoy their time learning while managing everyday life activities.
