Executive Summary: To foster critical engagement with global environmental challenges, the Department of Chemistry convened a poster presentation session focusing on the chemical and physical drivers of climate change. The event provided a platform for final-year students to synthesize scientific data and propose mitigation strategies through visual communication.

Evaluation: The proceedings were adjudicated by Prof. I.R. Gadhavi (Dean, Faculty of Science).

Mahi Lathiya is a dedicated student from the Department of Chemistry, she showcased her exceptional skills by participating in the West Zone Karate Championship's Under-21 competition held in Rajkot. Her hard work and determination paid off as she clinched a medal.

Vishwa V Kukdiya, Yagnee N Dhrangdhariya, and Shruti R Chauhan, students of the Department of Chemistry participated in the State level Seminar on Young India Strong India jointly organized by SIR P. P. Institute of Science and Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University, Bhavnagar. They presented a poster on the topic of Food Colours and were awarded 3rd Rank for their presentation. The students were guided by Dr. Kahan I. Pandya.

The students of the Department of Chemistry embarked on an enlightening educational visit to the Regional Science Centre Bhavnagar on National Science Day on February 28th. During this visit, they engaged in interactive exhibits and demonstrations, gaining practical insights into various scientific principles and phenomena. Through hands-on experiments and engaging presentations, the students delved into the world of science and understanding of the subject and its real-world applications. This educational excursion provided an invaluable opportunity for the students to broaden their knowledge and appreciation for the scientific domain, fostering a spirit of curiosity and discovery.

M.Sc. Chemistry students attended and participated in the National Science Symposium on "The Role of Pure Science towards VIKSIT BHARAT -2047" on 26th February, 2024, organized by IQAC & SSIP cell at Government Science College, Gariyadhar. Kalagasthala Deepraj Dharmendrabhai, an M.Sc. student specializing in organic chemistry at the Department of Chemistry, M.K. Bhavnagar University, presented a commendable academic poster at the event. Guided by Prof. Jignasu P. Mehta, Mr. Deepraj contributed actively by presenting on "Green Chemistry: Current and Future Issues Sustainability as Innovative Approach." His involvement in this prominent symposium demonstrates his dedication to staying updated on contemporary scientific matters, as well as his passion for making contributions to the field of organic chemistry and sustainability.

The Chemistry Department at Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University entails a digitally conducted campus interview - 2024 organized by Synzeal Pharma, a pharmaceutical company providing diverse job opportunities, including campus placements. This initiative involves the selection of candidates for job positions through a recruitment process where Synzeal Pharma has created an online platform and approximately 80 students have participated in this online drive of the company. This event serves as a dynamic platform for students to showcase their skills and knowledge while offering Synzeal Pharma an opportunity to identify and engage with talented individuals for potential employment within the pharmaceutical industry. Cultural Day Celebration at the Department of Chemistry, M.K. Bhavnagar University, Bhavnagar

The Department of Chemistry at M.K. Bhavnagar University recently sparked a delightful fusion of diversity and unity during the Cultural Day celebration. This event served as a captivating mosaic of cultural splendor, featuring mesmerizing performances, tantalizing cuisine, and captivating exhibits that beautifully encapsulated the rich heritage of our faculty and students. It was a joyous occasion that highlighted the harmony and inclusivity within the department, reinforcing the importance of cultural appreciation and camaraderie.

The Department of Chemistry at Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University was represented by two teams at Hackathon 2023, showcasing innovative solutions for plastic waste management. The first team, comprised of members Janu Vaghani, Krupali Varna, Darshita Jethava, Nandini Gondiliya, Ankita Mori, Dhyey Moradiya, Monark Pandya, and Ashwin Baraiya, presented their "New Innovative Idea for Waste Plastic Making Furniture." Their project aimed to address environmental concerns by utilizing waste plastic to create sustainable and functional furniture. The second team, led by Babariya Sejal, Parmar Khushali, Mori Rajavi, Makavana Ronak, and Yadav Hiten, under the guidance of Kahan Pandya, showcased their "Innovative Idea for Waste Plastics Pyrolysis." Both teams demonstrated a commitment to eco-friendly solutions for managing plastic waste, contributing to the promotion of sustainable practices in the industry.

Students from the Department of Chemistry at MKBU, Bhavnagar presented a Poster titled "The Impact of Green Energy on Climate Change, Biodiversity, Global Warming, and Ecology: Implications for the Shift to a Green Economy" at the National Conference 2024 on "Green Energy and Sustainable Development." The conference was organized by SHRI R. R. LALAN COLLEGE, BHUJ & ALUMNI ASSOCIATION. The participating students were Tejaskumar Jani, Shakti Rao, and Jalpesh Bambhaniya.

The Department of Chemistry team at the Youth Festival 2023 achieved a remarkable feat by securing the gold medal in the quiz event. The team, consisting of Khushi Badheka, Janu Vaghani, and Darshita Jethava, displayed exceptional knowledge and expertise, showcasing their prowess and dedication to the subject. Their outstanding performance in the quiz event contributed significantly to their well-deserved victory, cementing their position as leaders in the competitive academic environment of the festival. Yagnee Dhangdhariya's participation in the kathak event added a touch of grace and elegance to the festival, captivating the audience with the enchanting art of Indian classical dance. In addition, Balabhadrasinh Jadeja, a talented student from the Department of Chemistry, showcased his exceptional musical prowess at the Youth Festival by securing 1st position in the Tabla category, highlighting his dedication to the art form. Recently, he has also participated in the West Zone 2023, demonstrating his commitment to the musical arts and bringing pride to the Department of Chemistry.

The Department of Chemistry students, Mordiya Dhyey, Janu Vaghani, Krupali Vanra, and Darshita Jethava, participated in the Excel Expression 2024 with their project titled "Mulching-Based Farming." Their innovative project showcased their dedication to sustainable agricultural practices, further highlighting their commitment to advancing scientific knowledge within the Department of Chemistry.

Ms.Khushi Badheka, a student of the Department of Chemistry, has showcased her exceptional strategic acumen by achieving the title of champion twice in the Intercollege chess competition. Her remarkable accomplishments in the chess event underline her unwavering commitment and proficiency in the game, bringing honor to the Department of Chemistry.

Mr. Kuldip M. Kukadiya, a Ph.D. student from the Department of Chemistry at M. K. Bhavnagar University, participated in the Poster Presentation During the conference. His remarkable performance led to him securing the 3rd (Third) Rank in The 12th National Conference on Emerging Materials & Nanotechnology (NCEMN-2022) took place on 18-19 November 2022 and was organized by the Department of Chemistry at Govt. V. Y. T. PG Autonomous College in Durg, Chhattisgarh, India. The conference was held in association with the Solid-State Chemists and Allied Scientists (ISCAS) in Jammu.

The Department of Chemistry's team at the Youth Festival 2022-2023 achieved notable success, securing 2nd position in the Installation category. The team, comprising Shah Hetasvi, Kureshi Ishan, Dabhi Harsh, and Parmar Krishnaraj, displayed exceptional teamwork and skill in this event.
