Program Specific Outcome

B.A. Political Science

The curriculum of B. A. honors political science is framed with the objective of imparting basic theoretical understanding on core concepts of political theory. The students of semester one will be enriched with certain political ideas which would provide an outlook based on objectivity to look around political issues. This would help them to identify political issues objectively,

Students will be acquainted with Indian constitution evolution in the backdrop of national liberation movement. They would be able to know the political structure adopted in independent India. Students opted for further studies after graduation as well as for competition examination will be largely benefited with the constitutional and organizational development adopted in India after independence.

Students are intended to be enriched with the background of ancient Indian political thinking which would enable them to understand modern political thinking. We are also introducing a comparative analysis of political structures and systems between British, American and Chinese Government. This would broaden the horizon of thought process of our students. Basics of International Relations also being taught to orient about the theoretical issues.

In semester IV students will gather knowledge on Indian political thought. This would make them capable of evaluating political ideas along with the objective development takes place within the political system. They are also being taught about western political ideas from the days of ancient Greek political thought. This knowledge help them to know the modern political thinking also. In the VI semester students are primarily acquainted with the perspectives of public administration and also the administrative policies adopted in post-independent Indian scenario.

Students of political science honors are also exposed to the basic concepts of theories of international relations. This would help the students to have a clear idea about the global events. Students with broad knowledge of international politics would be able to join various inter- governmental organizations and NGOs for internships and jobs. Students acquire better skills that would enable them to grab better job opportunities at the global market.

Students of political science can appear in any competitive exam both at central and state level. Candidates appearing for civil services find political science as a subject of prime importance. Students are also inclined towards going for further studies in law after studying political science. Many students join media houses as journalists and reporters as political science help them better about the socio-political world around them.
