The curriculum is designed in such a manner by the University of Calcutta for its undergraduate courses across the discipline is unique one. Students of today are to be responsible citizen and citizen can be responsible in future if he or she is taught properly how to socialize himself or herself with the existing environment .

Bachelor of Arts with emphasis on honors program tries to imbibe certain theoretical knowledge base along with basic human values. Students of social science learn how to identify with the complex social structure in India. With a colonial legacy and an agony of partition taught us a lot of things. Our history , society, aesthetics- our all old pride and heritages are to be rejuvenated with a newer vision. And this vision can be developed among the students within the structure of curriculum. The course curriculum and the methodology of teaching can well be blended to create a new generation of students with a newer outlook
