MATERIALS FOR EXAM PREPARATION
The main directions of scientific work of the Department of Pathological Anatomy are:
1) morphological and immunohistochemical diagnostics of tumors and pre-tumor changes in organs and their prognostic significance;
2) pathomorphology and pathomorphosis of modern infectious diseases: tuberculosis, HIV infection, coinfections, COVID-19;
3) pathomorphology of cardiovascular and respiratory diseases;
4) pathomorphology of diseases of the reproductive system;
5) scientific management of the organization of work of pathological institutions and units and conduct of pathological research;
6) scientific and methodological management of the educational process of educational components of the morphological profile.
In 2020-2023, the department carried out the research work “Development of scientifically based criteria for pathomorphosis and morphological diagnosis of socially significant infectious pathology, cardiovascular diseases, diseases of the female reproductive system” (state registration code 0119U103946) (supervisor - Professor Sergiy Gychka). Since 2024, the department has been carrying out the planned research work “Study of morphogenesis and optimization of morphological diagnosis of the most common socially significant diseases” (state registration code 0124U000022). In 2020-2024, the staff of the department published 42 scientific publications in periodicals, including 27 articles in periodicals included in the Scopus/Web of Science.
Clinical bases of the department are actively involved in research work, in particular the pathology department of the Kyiv City Cancer Center. The results of the department's scientific work have been repeatedly presented at the European Congress on Breast Cancer, the European Congress of Pathology.
The staff of the department participates in conferences and congresses of various levels. This includes annual conferences of morphologists, pathologists, congresses of pathologists and pathologists of Ukraine, congresses of the World Federation of Ukrainian Medical Societies, the European Society of Pathology, etc.
The department works in close cooperation with specialized departments of other higher education institutions of Ukraine, scientific institutions, health care institutions, as well as with other departments of the Bogomolets National Medical University.
