A set of COMPLETE DENTURES
Partial Dentures
Implant supported Denture
Dentures offer a nonsurgical solution for replacement of missing teeth.
They are a removable option of teeth replacement and are to be removed especially at night for the better health of the gums and tissues.
2 types: Complete, replaces a full set of teeth. Partial: replaces one or more teeth but not all.
Dentures are made of acrylic (a plastic) base that has been custom molded according to the size of the jaws and gums and acrylic (plastic) or hybrid (porcelain) teeth.
Dentures need to be adjusted or refabricated from time to time. On an average a denture must be changed every 5-7 years.
Dentures may be worn on the jaw/gums or they maybe implant supported as well. At times, some roots of otherwise healthy teeth maybe retained in the mouth and used as a support for the denture (Overdentures) for preservation of the bone and gum height.
Dentures take multiple visits in order to get the impressions of the jaws and gums right and provide the correct fit of both the upper and lower denture against each other. It may require some follow up appointments so as to deal with the immediate post insertion problems.
