Learning Objective on this page:
Demonstrate the ability to develop appropriate accommodations for 504 students (Applying): Learners will apply knowledge to create suitable accommodations.
Watch the Reading Challenges video and answer the questions thoughtfully.
I suggest going to the link at Misunderstood Minds at the left and trying a few of the activities (not all of them work, but most do under reading and math). I think you will find it interesting.
When you have finished an activity, consider what would you have needed to be able to do the activity better? More time? A smaller group?
This concise video excellently clarifies accommodations and provides examples beneficial for students facing specific challenges. However, I'd like to make a small correction regarding the software mentioned. The video refers to "speech to text" as software that vocalizes written text. Typically, this function is known as "text to speech." It's a common mix-up. "Speech to text" software is actually designed to aid students with Dysgraphia or similar writing difficulties by transcribing spoken words into written text. Should you have any queries, feel free to reach out. After viewing the video, I encourage you to test your understanding with the accompanying matching quiz!
