DEMPhA Conference will be held at Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy, one of the leading universities of Central Ukraine, classical higher educational establishment, an educational and research facility, one of the country’s centers of education, science, culture and spirituality. For many years the research team at the Physics Department of Cherkasy National University has closely cooperated with variety of research centers in France, Poland, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Hungary, USA, Singapore in the field of physics of nanomaterials, mathematical modeling of solid-state reactions, diffusion-controlled processes, phase transitions in alloys.

Another tradition of this school was a close interrelation of Theoretical physics and Mathematics initiated and implemented at Cherkasy University by the well-known professor Hryhorii Buhaienko, whose 100th anniversary is being celebrated this year. Also, professor Oleksandr Semenovych at Cherkasy University 50 years ago closely cooperated with Andrey Kolmogorov in writing textbooks in geometry for schools.

Cherkasy region is a homeland of well-known mathematicians in the area of PDEs, Olga Arsenievna Oleinik (last quarter of century – a Chair of the Differential Equations Department at Moscow State University). She made a significant contribution in studying the properties of the second order partial differential equations with a non-negative characteristic form, topological properties of algebraic manifolds, viscous solutions of the nonlinear differential equations (the theory of shock waves), in the problems of the filtration theory and the theory of boundary layers.

Thus, the participants of our Conference will have an opportunity to visit the region famous for the scientific sources as well as one of the beautiful places on the Dnipro river – the city of Cherkasy , “which is not only the geographical center of Ukraine; it is its spiritual center with rich nature, generous fertile black soils, unique historical and cultural heritage. The first hetman capital was here during the times of Bohdan Khmelnytsky. Many European countries’ ambassadors were given a reception here. The Ukrainian Cossack phenomenon started here in the late 15th century, as well as the National Liberation Revolution of the 17th century. Ukrainian national poet and prophet Taras Shevchenko was born in the present Cherkasy region and buried in Kaniv (Cherkasy region). None of our guests will ignore a pearl of the world landscape architecture – Sofiivka – National Dendrological Park – one of the seven wonders of Ukraine which has delighted its visitors for more than 200 years. And just imagine an unforgettable experience of visiting Kholodnyi Yar, Butsky Canyon on the Hirsky Tikych River, the Kaniv mountains, and wonderful places in Zvenyhorodka area which are called Small Switzerland for the uniqueness of their landscape.

We sincerely invite you to Cherkasy, which is full of history and modernity, which is becoming an important center of Ukraine” [for more detail you can read here].
