Congratulations to Claire Gough and Madelon Brantley, recipients of our 2017-2018 novice teacher grants. Ms. Gough is an 8th Grade ELA teacher at Culbreth Middle School. She purchased books to teach her students about social injustices through Literature Circles. Ms. Brantley teaches 1st grade at Seawell Elementary School and used the grant money to purchase engaging books for guided reading.

Ms. Goerne purchased Happy Numbers online subscription and headphones for her first graders at Scroggs Elementary School in Chapel Hill. Ms. Crews purchased clipboards and headphones for her 6th grade students at Smith Middle School in Chapel Hill.
