The Municipality of Alaminos, LagunaThe town of Alaminos was once a barangay (village) of Sampaloc (present-day San Pablo City). It was known as "La Trenchera" or The Trenches because the town is surrounded by mountains and canals. Following its establishment as an independent pueblo or town in 1873, it was renamed as Alaminos in honor of Governor General Juan de Alaminos y Vivar. It remained a part of the province of Batangas until 1903.
Don Cirilo Baylon was appointed first Gobernadorcillo and the Capitan de los Constables de Pueblo.

In 1900s, the American Military Authority appointed Nicodemes Flores and then Rafael Baylon as overseers. It was during this time that Alaminos was re-annexed under San Pablo, Laguna. The town celebrates the CORAMBLAN every October. It is a festival of coconuts, rambutans and lanzoneses, the main agricultural produce of the municipality.
