Tips and Tricks For Your Dell Inspiron 1420

1.Audio not working after upgrading to Windows 7 and above? Fear no more and install the sound drivers from my driver collection!

2.Dell Inspiron 1420 is quite old, but don't throw it away! It can work like a modern computer if you upgrade it's ram and CPU! Well,if you are wanting to use it for gaming and other heavy work then forget about it. Donate it to your nearby charity or sell it(hopefully someone will buy it😂)

4.You are recommended just to stick with Windows Defender as your antivirus provider as it won't make your laptop slow like other antiviruses. Well, make sure to use Malwarebytes to run weekly scan(monthly is fine as well) to make sure no viruses has pass through Windows Defender(which rarely happen)

5.Make a habit of scanning what you want to download from Internet using VirusTotal.I am sure your computer will be one of the most difficult to be infected by viruses!

6. Question : Will Dell Inspiron 1420 support 1066FSB CPU such as T9550?

Answer : T9550 and other 1066FSB won't support this laptop without performing BSEL mod .I found out that in the hard way.If I find any tweaked BIOS I will post it here as well.My temporary solution is to perform a BSEL mod which the CPU downclock to 2GHZ sadly.(see https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Intel-T9550-for-Dell-Inspiron-1420?pid=187794#pid187794 if you want to perform BSEL mod)

7. Question : I lost Dell Media Direct,the Driver Reinstallation DVD.

Answer : I just happened to find those CDs but my CD reader isn't working.I will upload it if I can get my hand to convert the CD to ISO and share it here.

8. Question : Bluetooth driver (.exe) supplied by this website is not working in Windows 11 and 10 with this error message:

Answer : Navigate to C:\dell\drivers\R226750\R226750\Win64 and run Inst.Follow the on screen instruction and restart the computer.
