These roles help the board get up and running.
Elected in January, the Nominating Committee consists of (3) PTA members (who should not be PTA Board members). The PTA President & Principal serve only as advisers to the Board. The Nominating Committee elects it's Chairman. The Nominating Committee submits it's report to membership at the February Association meeting.
Del Mar Elementary PTA Executive Board Elections are held at the March Association meeting (2nd Wednesday of the month).
The budget committee is appointed by the president (or president-elect if the budget is being developed for the new term in advance of taking office), and has the responsibility for developing the annual budget. The committee cannot develop the budget until the board-elect has determined the goals and programs for the upcoming year. The executive board should have surveyed the school community before developing the goals and programs.
In the spring, the board-elect develops the budget and presents the proposed budget for adoption to the current executive board and the membership at the last PTA meeting of the year.
