Studies have shown significant variation in DKA care between patients despite using the same guidelines. Traditional audits have fallen short in addressing this variation in patient care associated with DKA, which demands immediate attention. Building upon our successful endeavours in improving DKA management through a quality improvement project, we have pioneered an innovative solution – the Digital Evaluation of Ketosis and Other Diabetes Emergencies (DEKODE), which has a win-win-win strategy:

1. Win for you: You will save time spent designing an audit or analysing the data, which usually accounts for approximately 50% of the workload.

2. Win for the community: Aggregated data from participating hospitals offers insights into evolving DKA care trends, informing future guidelines and improving healthcare at a national level.

3. Win for patients: Reduced care variation improves patient outcomes, ensuring consistent and effective management.
