Welcome to the 3rd Workshop on Inclusive HRI!

Despite heightened awareness of the risks robotic systems present to underrepresented groups, the need for increased action on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in Human-Robot Interaction (HRl) has not been met. This workshop aims to make the HRI community more diverse and inclusive so that underrepresented groups can participate in the creation of HRI systems and also expand HRI research methods, robot designs, and applications to be more diverse and inclusive.

This workshop explores the research questions: What does DEI mean for robot design, application, and HRI research methods? How can we promote DEI within HRI? Our goal is to raise awareness of the importance of DEI issues in HRI among the wider HRI community so that we can achieve an inclusive HRI in the real world.

Another goal of this workshop is to build a community and solidarity among researchers in HRI who work on and are affected by the various and related issues around DEI.

This workshop is in conjunction with the ACM/IEEE International Conference on Human-Robot Interaction and will be in a hybrid format. The workshop will take place on March 11th, 2024, both in person in Boulder, Colorado, USA, as well as virtually on Zoom.
