Biography

Researcher

My name is Deepti Tagare. I am an electronics engineer turned educational researcher, a unique career trajectory that has led me to my primary area of research - computer science education. My research spans both K-12 and higher education settings to bring about effective change in the content, teaching methods, and outcome of computing education.

I investigate the integration of computational thinking skills and AI literacy in K-12 education with a special focus on teacher-readiness to implement these competencies in their teaching. In higher education I work with computer science faculty members across various universities in the US to implement cross-disciplinary skills and dispositions within their programs.

Instructional Designer

In my five-year instructional design experience  I have worked on several digital educational products as part of the editorial teams of top global publishing houses including McGraw Hill Education, Oxford University Press, and Cambridge University Press. I continue to use my instructional design skills as I provide instructional design consultation and design faculty workshops.
