PROject overview

Addressing the need for a streamlined size reduction and washing process.

Many types of municipal solid waste can be repurposed by conversion into biofuel; however, the waste still has to be processed before it can undergo pyrolysis. Factors such as contamination level and particulate size can lead to a lowered yield of fuel, and a higher yield of unwanted biproducts. The goal of the team is to create a machine that can complete these pretreatment steps concisely, in a way more convenient to the user. The process we are streamlining can be described in three steps: Large -scale size reduction, precise size reduction, and cleaning.
