Chapter 1 - Lessons 1-4 - Study Guide
Students should read the textbook page and redo all the exercises completed in class.
(Correct answers should be in their notebooks.)
Students should also review the workbook pages.
Students will receive templates of a Hundred Chart and a Place Value Chart to use during the test.
The test includes Chapter 1:
Lesson 1 - Place Value
Students should practice writing the standard form (576), the expanded form (500+70+6), and the word form ( five hundred and seventy-six) of any number no greater than three digits.
Students should be able to identify the place of the underlined digit and its value.
EX. 576 - 7 - value is 70, place is tens
Lesson 2 - Compare Numbers
Students should compare numbers using the symbols “less than” (<), “greater than” (>), and “equal” (=).
Lesson 3 - Order Numbers
Students should order numbers from least to greatest and from greatest to least. They can use a number line or a place value chart if needed.
Lesson 4 - Counting Patterns
Students should be able to count by 2s, 3s, 4s, etc., and complete number patterns forward and backward. They can use a hundred chart if needed.
Ex:
28, 30, 32 - counting forward by 2
33, 30, 27 - counting backward by 3
Complete patterns example: 28, ____ , 32, 34, 36, ___, 40
