Math test on Thursday 11/20 - Study Guide - Chapter 3 Subtraction - Lessons 2 and 3
Important: In addition and subtraction, it is important to align the digits by place value. Addition and subtraction always begin with the “ones” place value ( we add and subtract from right to left).
Not all exercises in the textbook were completed in class; however, students should have the correct answers to several exercises included in the lessons that are part of the test. All the workbook pages were graded or reviewed in class, so this is a good source for studying for this test.
Lesson 2: Students should be able to subtract without regrouping (textbook pages 102 and 103)
Workbook page 28 - no need to estimate - just do the “real” subtraction
Lesson 3: Students should be able to subtract after rounding to the nearest ten or hundred and to the nearest 10 cents or dollar (textbook pages 104 and 105)
Workbook page 29 - round as requested first, and then subtract
