Healthcare Initiatives
As a certified Prosthetist Orthotist, licensed by the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT) and internationally certified by the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO), I have spent over 5 years delivering mobility solutions to under-served communities. I am a proud member of the Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists of Tanzania (APOT), and my work spans clinical care, humanitarian initiatives, technology training, and innovation in prosthetic production. From pioneering the use of 3D printing to training peers across East Africa, my mission is to expand access to high-quality, affordable prosthetic and orthotic services in Tanzania and beyond.
My Projects
Worked on-site to assess, fabricate, and fit prosthetic and orthotic devices for patients, while also leading outreach initiatives to under-served rural communities. This included patient follow-up, gait training, and awareness campaigns.
IMPACT: Helped hundreds of patients access affordable and timely P&O care in the Lake Zone region.
Served as a trainer in monolimb technology during capacity-building workshops held in Tanzania and at Kenyatta National Hospital in Kenya. I facilitated hands-on training for fellow professionals, helping scale low-cost prosthetic production while improving practitioner skill sets.
IMPACT: Up skilled multiple professionals across borders to replicate cost-effective prosthetic models.
Coordinated the delivery of 25 prostheses to beneficiaries in Mwanza as part of APOT's 5th AGM charity event. I was invilved in the full cycle - from screening and production to the ceremonial handover by the Deputy Minister of Health.
IMPACT: Helped restore mobility and dignity to 25 individuals, many of whom had lived without access to services for years.
Worked with EAHP Tanzania to deliver 3D printed prosthetic hands to under-served communities. This project merged innovation with humanitarian outreach, addressing limb loss with low-cost, custom-fit solutions.
IMPACT: Expanded access to functional devices for amputees who had no prior solutions.
