About Me:

I am working as a post-doctoral researcher at the Indiana University School of Medicine in the Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science since Jan 2023., working with Dr. Travis Johnson. My research primarily focuses on studying single cell data and spatial transcriptomics in order to identify disease causing features and study association of cells with disease attributes. I earned my PhD in Mathematical Sciences (Statistics) from the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) under the supervision of Dr. Jyoti Sarkar. My research interests also include reliability analysis, survival analysis, probabilistic machine learning and applied stochastic processes. In my PhD dissertation, I developed probability models that are often useful in industrial settings that involve shock and wear processes. Through computational methodologies, I developed maintenance strategies for such complex industrial systems. I currently work on developing methods to address therapeutic targets in cancer and Alzheimer's research.

In general, I am passionate about working on diverse problems that appear in statistics and data science with a wide range of applications in industry and health sciences.

Prior to joining IUPUI, I completed Bachelor of Science with Honors in Statistics with a minor in Mathematics and Economics from Lady Brabourne College (under University of Calcutta) in India in 2014, completed Master of Science in Statistics from University of Calcutta, India in 2016. After completing M.Sc, I worked at the Indian Statistical Institute for one year as a research assistant. I am extremely passionate about teaching and find immense pleasure in imparting knowledge to students and I am proud to have been able to play a key role in teaching undergraduate statistics to students at IUPUI for over four years as an instructor.

When I am not working, I love traveling, singing, and cooking.
