What is the difference between Deaf Church Together (DCT) and First Coast Deaf Church (FCDC)?
DeafChurch Together is a model of church growth that is specifically Anglican but can be used by any Christian group as God leads. The book that serves as our conceptional framework is DEAFCHURCH 21: Vision for a New Generation (Ayres & McClain, 2019). First Coast DeafChurch is a practical application of this concept in northeast Florida. There is a single parish (FCDC) that serves a large region with multiple small groups. Within that region are multiple “hearing” churches who serve as Anchor Churches where a small group might connect. This provides an option for additional programs for hearing CODAs and SODAs. [Write out the meaning of these acronyms.]
In Florida, St. Augustine has the largest per capita Deaf population although there are other high-density areas for future growth. Part of the mission of DCT is training leaders through this location to deploy into other regions.
