I wish I understood
I wish I could help
Does it go any good?
It’s making me whelp
You’re falling like a rock
Tumbling off a cliff
I’m trying to take stock
But I’m rigid and stiff
Fear has taken hold
It tears through my heart
My body icy cold
As my brain’s ripped apart
How can you not see
What’s right before your eyes
You fill our lives with glee
Brighten up the skies
But then comes the dark
And it holds you tight
Extinguishes the spark
Blanketing the light
Like cancer it will spread
A force of it’s own
Filling you with dread
From the skin to the bone
I can’t bear to watch
As your life implodes
The spreading blotch
And normality explodes
The whirlpool draws down
Now I’m losing my balance
My sense spinning around
As out come the talons
Can you learn to accept
It doesn’t have to be like this?
But I feel so inept
As we head for the abyss
So, this has to stop
And break the system
It’s time to swap
Don’t be the victim
You are who you are
Stop trying to please
Set your own bar
End this disease
