Schedule
Monday: PT in the morning (short run, conditioning drills, low crawl/high crawls). In the morning, we did a class on Military History and Army Problem Solving. In the afternoon, we packed and prepared for our STX (situational training exercise) which we will be doing for the next three days out in the field.
Tuesday: Left for the field first thing in the morning. During this day in the field, we conducted classes on the infantry/patrolling type skills we'd be conducting. Slept out in the field at night.
Wednesday: Woke up and spent the day practicing the infantry/patrolling/reaction to contact drills. Slept again out in the field at night.
Thursday: Woke up and conducted our 6 mile ruck march at about a 15 minute per mile pace (which is quick), with a 35lb ruck, and weapon. This was tough on a lot of people. After our ruck, we went home and began conducting field recovery (laundry, cleaning weapons, cleaning gear).
Friday: In the morning, those who failed land nav before were able to retake it (most passed this second time through). For those of us who didn't fail land nav, we conducted PT with our commander doing a bunch of running drills at the track. The rest of the day we spent doing field recovery.
Saturday: Spent the morning cleaning weapons, then were released at 1200 for the rest of the day with an off post pass till 2000.
Sunday: No formation today at all. We had an off post pass. People went to religious services, ate out at restaurants, bought uniform things and walked around Columbus.
