Schedule
Monday: PT in the morning. More classes and powerpoint presentations.
Tuesday: Diagnostic ACFT test in the morning. First time we took this test, it is not counted for record. A good opportunity to practice all of the exercise events and see where you are at physically. In the afternoon, we did a drill and ceremony test to see how well we march everyone around (they'll teach you this and you'll have plenty of time to practice). In the afternoon, we went to CIF (Central Issue Facility) where we received all of our TA50 equipment including things like rucksack, field equipment, helmet, other gear you'll need for the rest of the course that you will turn in at the end.
Wednesday: PT in the morning (running and core workouts). "Combat life saver" course in the morning learning how to use a tourniquet and other medical care in combat. Afternoon had more classes and powerpoint presentations.
Thursday: PT in the morning (different physical fitness drills and battle buddy carries). In the morning class we went over military movement drills and how to conduct patrols. In the afternoon, we continued on with more classes and powerpoint presentations.
Friday: PT in the morning (running, pushups, pullups, air squats). In the morning, we did CS Gas Chamber Training, fun stuff! In the afternoon, we had our initial class on Land Navigation.
Saturday: Morning 2 mile ruck march with about a 45lb ruck on our backs. Then we went to a leadership training course which was similar to a teamwork kind of obstacle course. We were released at 1400 to have the rest of Saturday to ourselves to go to the PX on base to get stuff we need.
Sunday: No training scheduled today. We were allowed to attend church services of our choice if we wanted to. Most people relaxed and prepared for our upcoming field exercise beginning tomorrow.
