Top Tips for New LSAT Members
Are you new to your school's LSAT? Thank you so much for giving your time and skills to serve your school community in this way!
If you'd like some help in getting oriented, here are our top tips to get you started:
Read the LSAT Guidelines. These provide an overview of the role, requirements, and function of the LSAT.
Skim through the LSAT Year at a Glance document. This will help give you a sense of what topics your LSAT should be covering throughout the year.
Make sure you're subscribed to the Community Action Team's monthly LSAT Reminders email newsletter. You should be subscribed as long as your LSAT Chair has submitted an updated LSAT roster for the year, but if you haven't received it, you can email LSAT.help@k12.dc.gov to request to be added.
Join the DC LSAT Collective Google Group. This is a great place to ask questions of LSAT members at other schools across DCPS to see how they are approaching common issues.
Attend the monthly virtual DC LSAT Collective meetings, along with any Community Action Team office hours and webinars. These are designed to provide information and resources to support LSAT members in their core tasks, and an opportunity to ask questions and receive responses in real time.
Don't be afraid to speak up and ask questions! If your principal or veteran LSAT members mention a term or acronym you don't recognize, ask what it means. (You can also consult this cheat sheet.)
