Notable Free Agents - DB Retreat
Kai "KJ" Gray
Pro Experience: Edmonton Elks (2023 ROTY)
Kai Gray is the result of unfortunate business. After a standout season in 2023, Gray finished 2024 as a starter and key contributor. After his entire staff changed in Edmonton, Gray remained signed until a few days before camp. The late termination left Gray in a tough predicament.
Meanwhile, Gray is in shape and ready to go! He was a standout performer in this year's DB Retreat hosted by Draft Prep Academy.
Myles Brooks, CB
Pro Experience: Dallas Cowboys, BC Lions
Brooks is a talented press corner who started his career at Stephen F. Austin, where he dominated competition. After 3 years of excelling on the field with elite production, Brooks transferred up to FBS Louisiana Tech, where he started and had great production.
As a participant in the retreat, Brooks displayed great ball skills, adequate feet and good speed to match vertical routes down the field. After spending time with the Dallas Cowboys, Myles is looking for a new pro opportunity.
The 24 year old cornerback is ready to go!
Dawson Marchant, DB
Pro Experience: BC Lions (Drafted)
Marchant was a very unique attendee at the retreat. As the only documented Native of Canada, Marchant developed a great reputation and repour over the four day event.
Marchant is a football junkie who's pro career was derailed by cancer.
Marchant has film playing cornerback but after evaluation, he is a prospect that we believe would be an ELITE safety... especially across the border. He is now cancer-free and ready to show what he is made of.
Andrew Volmar, CB
Pro Experience: Denver Broncos Rookie Minicamp
Volmar is a very solid defensive back with great instincts and understanding of the game. His length and fluidity are what stand out the most. At his length, he has very elite change of direction and hip fluidity.
Volmar began his career at FIU before ultimately finishing at Bethune Cookman where he displayed great physical traits and a high ceiling at the cornerback position.
Robert Jones III, DB
Pro Experience: Kansas City Chiefs Rookie Minicamp
Jones is a nice sized DB with the frame and IQ to play multiple positions on the backend. Primarily a cornerback, Jones excels in man to man coverage (Off and Press), while also being a savvy zone DB as well.
At Howard University, Jones displayed versatility and a great competitive edge on an island.
