Reflections of My Journey Throughout the Standards
My e-Portfolio - AASL Professional Standards web pages, are a means to provide in one location, pertinent information of who I am, how I think, (my authenticate self) and how that has been shaped by previous work, community and educational experiences (my base foundation). Here, instead of just reading that I attained mastery of a standard, with a click on an example, my creative work is evidenced through projects as to how my base of skills provided the catalyst for my current work, thus providing a map of sorts as to the possibilities in my future career.
This website enables me to express myself at a deeper level and gives me the ability to share my authentic self. Displaying work, my educational journey and my history is only a part of what I present. It is equally important to display my work and to promote feedback, comments, suggestions and other ideas, not only in my presenting, but also in my future direction in upholding the AASL standards and promoting them in my everyday workplace.
I endeavor to continue to be a successful teacher, leader and support for others, and to provide opportunities for those with whom I work with and help educate for the 21st century and beyond. My learning is not the end, but the continuance of learning; about different projects, tools, and employment opportunities that may stretch me, enhance my journey and perhaps even leading down paths never imagined.
