DIRECTOR'S NOTE
Plays and weddings have a lot in common. Bringing new people together and learning how they connect, operating in the frenzied continuum between extreme joy and deepest stress, and that feeling half way through preparation that there is no way it is going to come together–yet it miraculously does. Leaning onto this similarity is where we began our production of Mamma Mia, a play about a wedding. This collection of 28 songs (Yes, 28!) woven together into a story of self-discovery and healing, creates a joyous tapestry that was a pleasure to explore. We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed creating it!
Sincerely, Chad Fisk
SPECIAL THANKS
As always, endless thanks to Tessa Clifton and Alisa Clayton for their hours and hours of working overtime to make this show what it is. We cannot overstate how proud and grateful we are.
All of the thanks in the world to Eric Richardson and Niels Larsen, without whom our lofty dreams of Grecian villas would not have been possible.
Huge thanks to Eli Nittner for costume organization and general help around the theater.
Thanks to Jennifer Nachmanoff for her wonderful painting magic and loaning of flippers.
Thank you to Janet Parker and Woodland High School, UC Davis Theater Department, Dr. Judy Vallero, Kelly Heung, the Clifton Family, and Krissy Schwerin for the loaning of costumes, props, and furniture.
Thank you to Gina Smith, Mike Dufrene and Emerson Jr High for providing us with paper when it felt like there was no hope of ever finding any.
Thank you to the dedicated curtain hanging (and rehanging) team, you know who you are.
DHS Theater would like to extend its eternal gratitude to Gwyneth Bruch for being such a supportive and integral member of the DHS Theater community.
To our wonderful director, Chad Fisk: thank you for everything. Need we say more?
Thank you to Shenandoah Kehoe for her mentorship and assistance in creating the wonderful set seen before you.
Finally, a big, BIG thank you to Krissy Schwerin and Kat Painter for taking on the musical direction and dance choreography for this show. This production would be entirely lost without them.
