I had my Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in July 2007 and my Master of Science (MSc) in July 2010 in Computer Science at the Department of Informatics, Bioengineering, Robotics and Systems Engineering (DIBRIS) of University of Genoa (Genoa, Italy, EU), with 110/110 grade.
From January 2011 to March 2014 I was a PhD student in Information Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano (Milan, Italy, EU), at the Database Management research group of the Department of Electronics and Information. From November 2013 to May 2014, I was a visiting PhD student at the Pierre Baldi’s research group at University of California Irvine (California, USA).
On 20th March 2014 I defended my doctoral thesis entitled “Computational Prediction of Gene Functions through Machine Learning methods and Multiple Validation Procedures” and obtained the doctoral degree at Politecnico di Milano.
From September 2014 to September 2018 I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre (Toronto, Ontario, Canada). From September 2018 to January 2020 I was a researcher at the University Health Network (Toronto, Ontario, Canada). Since January 2021, I have been a researcher at the University of Toronto, and in July 2023 I started to work as a junior researcher at Università di Milano-Bicocca (Milan, Italy, EU).
My subjects of study and research are bioinformatics, health informatics, and machine learning.
