This year's data mining course has been conducted through blended learning using PutraBLAST, UPM's learning management system and Padlet as the complementary platform. The course was participated by thirty four students, 23 from Malaysia and 11 mobility students from France. Various activities such as online treasure hunt and video conference were conducted. Challenge based learning approach is the main teaching technique used especially to prepare students for the assignments and project delivery. Tools used for learning activities include Coggle, Popplet, Quizizz, ThingLink, Padlet and Whatsapp. Gamification is one of the most seek activities to liven up the course. Engagement from industry (i.e., Malaysia Airlines Berhad) is one of the exciting ongoing in the course where students develop data mining solutions for flight delay as a digital flight innovation. Students developed pitching videos and blogs to display their portfolios as junior data scientists.
