I am a PhD candidate in Economics at the University of Leeds. My research revolves around conceptualizing rural labour and rural-urban divides using a Marxian political economy framework. I help teach modules on urbanization and economic geography within the Department of Geography at the University of Leeds. I enjoy both research and teaching in political economy, cultural geography, theories of urbanization, and rural-urban divides.
I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. Growing up in a city and traveling throughout the rural western US, I developed an interest in the separation and fragmentation between rural and urban everyday life, social relations, economic well-being, culture, and political consciousness. I have since expanded this interest into my research and teaching, which I aim to continue doing in academia after I finish my PhD.
Outside of academia I enjoy watching and playing sports, reading noir novels, watching movies, and spending time with my pets.
I anticipate completing my PhD in Spring 2026. I hold the following degrees:
L.L.M., Comparative Law, Economics, and Finance, International University College of Turin // University of Turin (2022)
M.A., Economics, The New School for Social Research (2021)
Honors B.A., English, University of Utah (2019)
B.S., Economics, University of Utah (2019)
