Dr. Pavitra Krishnaswamy

Principal Investigator & Deputy Division Head -
Institute of Infocomm Research, A*STAR

Pavitra Krishnaswamy is a Senior Scientist, Principal Investigator and Deputy Division Head at the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), Agency for Science Technology & Research (A*STAR), Singapore.

Her research focuses on advancing machine learning approaches to effectively leverage real-world patient data for diverse health intelligence applications. A recent focus is in addressing critical bottlenecks in scaling deep learning for clinical image analysis. Her team develops unsupervised, semi-supervised, self-supervised, active and representation learning methods, with a view to targeted screening, triage, retrieval and diagnostic applications.

Pavitra holds a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard Medical School, and completed a postdoctoral stint at the MIT Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, before moving to Singapore. She was nominated as a Future Leader of the Science and Technology in Society (STS) Forum in 2017, and named in the Singapore 100 Women in Technology List in 2021.

Dr. Holger Roth
