Welcome to Death!

Welcome to the Covenant! You are dead and have been for a short stint - anywhere from a day to a year. Every kind of supernatural creature has passed away in some way, shape or form in order to become a supernatural entity. There's no undo button, there's no turning back, there's only your existence as a supernatural entity ahead of you.

Character options are:

Ethereals. You passed on from this life with unfinished business that stirred your soul into unlife.
Lycans. You had some form of lycan bite that either turned you outright or lay dormant in your system until your tragic, untimely death.
Vampires. a bite from a vampire isn't enough to turn a person, but being drained of blood and given vampire blood is! And it's not the most pleasant experience.

All of these methods of turning are not foolproof or even wiseproof. It's a roulette wheel as to whether a lycan bite will turn you into a lycan, outright kill you or worse, turn you into a mindless beast. Particularly weak souls may just haunt a location with no mind to speak of. You are the lucky ones where the turning worked! So, well done. You won the turning roulette! Now lets find out more about each species, shall we?

Ethereals

Ghosts, Spirits, Poltergeists.

Congratulations! You died with unfinished business. Maybe you never finished your bucket list. Perhaps you wish to haunt the person who killed you. Or, you really wish you could go see Wham! in concert. Whatever the case, you are now an ethereal.

Ethereals specialise in areas of magic, having a shield of mana powered by their expertise in all things strange and haunting. Ethereals are also naturally incorporeal, meaning they have abilities that interfere with electricity and allow them to pass through things.

Lycans

Werekin, Lycanthropes, Animalists

A turning bite from a lycan doesn't need to be gruesome. A gentle nom from a corgi. A sting from a wasp. Being clawed by a badger. No matter how it happened, the lycanthrope venom tore through you, killing off your humanity and remaking you as one of them.

Lycans come in all shapes and sizes, but predominantly specialise in combat whilst remaining in touch with nature and tracking and regenerating their own strength. That doesn't stop them from holding more supportive roles - though when the blood is pumping and your animalistic form shifts up, it's hard to do anything other than fight.

Vampires

Nosferatu, Leeches, Bloodsuckers

It must be said that the glamourisation of vampires is going quite well. More and more sympathetic movies are coming out showing you guys as sweet, sympathetic, misunderstood people... but that doesn't change the fact that it really did hurt to be drained of all your blood and filled back up with vampire blood in its place.

Vampires are charismatic, strengthened by the night and adept alchemists, using their own blood as a chemical reagent, or even giving said blood to their allies to heal them. Of course, vampires can also take their own fill of their allies blood in return. Quid pro quo, as they say.
