About Me

My name is Taegun Ahn, but I prefer to be called Danny Ahn. I have created this site to record and share my career development during my time at IUPUI. I am currently a senior majoring in Health Services Management and minoring in Community Health in the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health. As a professional, I want to be a leader that motivates and inspires others. My goal is to create a respectful work environment and culture that values the diverse perspectives, ideas, and backgrounds of all members and patients.

Why Health Services Management (HSM)?

My personal experiences developed my passion for healthcare. I came to the United States alone when I was a fourteen-year-old. It granted me a multicultural environment, which taught me the beauty of diverse environments, and developed a passion to advocate for quality of care. I firmly believe that the healthcare field is the path where I can make an impact on one's life and demonstrate my passion through work.

Moreover, majoring in Health Services Management allowed me to understand how the health of minorities is affected by the current healthcare system. My experience and education at IUPUI will provide opportunities to address health inequities and quality disparities to help such populations. After graduating in May, I want to work in a purpose-driven non-profit organization that aligns with my passion for providing access to populations who are experiencing health disparities.
