Recitals 2018-2024

Kaimuki Public Library, July 7, 1-2 p.m

Thank you to Mr. Les Yanagi for inviting me back to play at the Kaimuki Public Library. It was a delightful recital with my wife and many friends in the audience. The last song, Mellow, was dedicated to my beloved mother-in-law, Belen Quinto, who passed away peacefully on July 5--just two days prior to the recital. I played many of my own songs as well as the first live versions of Mamma Mia (ABBA) and Give Me One Reason (Tracy Chapman). In addition, I performed a solo version of the Stevie Wonder classic, I Wish.

Highlights

Setlist:

All songs composed by Danilo Marrone except as noted.

Hawaii State Main Library, March 23, 2-3 p.m.

Thank you Jennifer Owens for the opportunity to play at the main library. The acoustics were amazing as always.

I played many of my own songs as well as the first live versions of Full Force Gale (Morrison); Upside Down (Jack Johnson); and James (Metheny/Mays). The audience was very supportive and there were people watching the recital from the balcony. Thank you!

Setlist:

Aina Haina Public Library, Jan. 6, 2024

It was a delight to perform at the Aina Haina branch again. Some of the highlights included very special renditions of my original compositions Sirens and Mellow--lovingly dedicated to Auntie Eldie. It was great fun having all the adults bark along to Sienna, another original song written for our Great Dane. Thank you to Connor for setting everything up so nicely. A heartfelt thanks to Branch Manager Holly Kwok for the recital opportunity. Mahalo!

Kapolei Public Library, Nov. 4, 2023

One of the many highlights was having younger audience members joining in on a song composed for my dog, Sienna, a Great Dane. It was also the first time I performed Birdland live. This iconic song was written by Joe Zawinul and was originally performed by Weather Report with the legendary Jaco Pastorius on bass and vocals. For this version, I played along with Martin Kolbe and Ralf Illenberger whose arrangement of the song on two guitars is simply sublime.

A heartfelt thanks to Shannon Fukumoto--a librarian at Kapolei Public Library--for planning and arranging the recital.
