Step to Swansea

The Step Up to Swansea University programme is a series of day events and a short summer school at Swansea University aimed at A-Level and BTEC students in their first year of study. The programme aims to support students in making the transition to higher education. The Step Up to Swansea University programme is a targeted programme for students from backgrounds that are underrepresented in higher education. This includes, but is not limited to young carers, care-experienced young people, and young people living in areas in the lower 40% of the Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation.

From 2025 to 2026, Daniel delivered several guest sessions for the Step Up to Swansea programme, titled Language and Mind and Languages You've Never Heard Of: A Hands-on Workshop on Minoritised Languages. Aimed at prospective A-Level students, the sessions introduced students to the fields of psycholinguistics and minoritised languages, respectively.
