Daniel welcomes opportunities to contribute to podcasts, panels, interviews, and public discussions on Welsh language policy, Welsh-medium and bilingual education, new speakers of Welsh, Cymraeg 2050, and young people’s Welsh language use after compulsory education.
Daniel will be appearing as a guest on a forthcoming episode of Richard Nosworthy’s podcast Hefyd, a series dedicated to exploring the lives and experiences of Welsh learners - people who are learning, or have learned, the language as adults. In the episode, he will be interviewed about how and why he began learning Welsh, and how the language now features in his personal, academic, and professional life. The conversation forms part of the podcast’s wider aim of sharing diverse learner journeys with intermediate and advanced Welsh learners, as well as fluent speakers, alongside useful vocabulary to support language development.
Daniel will be appearing on Ymchwil ar y gweill: Y Podlediad Academaidd Cymraeg ('Research in Progress: The Welsh-Language Academic Podcast') to discuss his doctoral research on Welsh language use after compulsory education. The conversation will explore what happens to young people’s Welsh after they leave school, why this matters for Cymraeg 2050, and what current evidence can and cannot tell us about post-school Welsh language change.
