Thanks to a collaboration between Tecnológico de Monterrey and Resideo® (a Honeywell subcompany), a sixteen-week internship for students in their 7th semester of my BSc took place. The challenge was the development and creation of a CNC actuator capable of testing the company devices’ touchscreens, replacing human interaction.
As an early stage of the internship, eight initial CAD proposals of the device were submitted. My team's CAD proposal (being myself the one in charge of such task) for such a device was one of the two selected to be further developed and given budget to be constructed.
The device was operated with serial commands and a PIC18F4550 microcontroller and set up using MPLAB X IDE software.
