Career Connections
Career Connections
I choose to include is Project Two. I choose to include this project we explored how implicit bias and stereotypes threaten diversity, equity, and inclusion. As well as how a growth mindset can combat this. This added to my learning experience as I am more mindful of my actions. We might be aware of our own biases. Practicing mindfulness will take into consideration others and how we can make them feel respected and included. Reflecting on how to overcome and be aware of bias has allowed me to take steps in my own life. This project applies to the programmatic theme of emotional intelligence and career connections. Being able to understand others' emotions will allow us to react in a respectful inclusive manner. Also having a growth mindset in the workplace is a vaulabe skill and helps you contribute to a healthy work environment.
I have also chosen to include Module Four Journal. I have chosen to include it because it includes fundamental theories and personality psychology. For example, the influence of nature and nurture on humanism. Nature versus nurture is long standing debate in psychology. Its influences are important to understand in any theory studied. This applies to career connections. Continuing with a career in psychology will require understanding different viewpoints and influences on theories to best apply them to your work. It also discusses applying theory to society. This shows my skills by applying the role of the systemic issue in society of homelessness to the hierarchy of needs. Having the ability to recognize issues within your own community and where they are in the hierarchy will allow you to develop and plan to address those issues.
