Welcome to my faculty portfolio! 

I am Dr. Daniella Mascarenhas. I received my Ph.D. (2018) and M.A. (2016) in political science from the University of Houston and I received my B.A. (2013) in political science from Texas A&M University. 

My research focuses on the intersection of freedom, incarceration, and civic engagement, and has been featured in The Political Science Reviewer, Journal of Political Science Education and is forthcoming in Lateral and Critical Review: A Journal of Politics and Society.

I am particularly dedicated to civically engaged research. I strive to bring this research into the classroom, fostering a learning environment where students can engage with and contribute to civic life.
