This program computes the Alexander polynomial for 2-bridge (a.k.a. rational) knots and links. The input consists in two coprime integers p and q, with p odd for knots and even for links.
The output consists in the Alexander polynomial of the rational knot/link K(p,q), plus the information about its (smooth) sliceness.
This program is based on the article "Explicit formulae for two-bridge knot polynomials" by Shinji Fukuhara.
The sliceness of a two bridge knot was enstablished in Lisca's paper Lens spaces, rational balls and the ribbon conjecture.
A list of 2-bridge knots (up to 12 crossings) can be found in the amazing Knotinfo.
