8. ACER expert group on Demand Side Flexibility (2021 - 2022)
Selected by ACER to participate as expert in this group aimed to advise the Agency on topics related to the Regulation on the internal market for electricity and specifically on demand side flexibility.
9 . Development Team of the Network Code on Demand Response (2023 - ongoing)
Selected by EU DSO Entity to participate as expert in this group aimed to draft the new Network Code on Demand Response in cooperation with ENTSOE experts. Public consultation
10. ACER expert group on Peak Shaving Products (2025 - ongoing)
The main focus of the expert group is to advise ACER on how developing peak-shaving products might affect the EU electricity market under normal market conditions. Experts explore the products’ feasibility, main benefits and potential drawbacks. They also advise ACER in assessing whether these products can be introduced without disrupting the functioning of electricity markets or redirecting existing demand response services towards peak-shaving products.
11. ACER expert group on EU-wide flexibility needs assessment (2025 - ongoing)
Due to the massive ramp up of renewable energy, the EU’s power system flexibility needs are expected to double by 2030. The recently adopted Electricity Market Design (EMD) Regulation (2024) mandates ACER to conduct a pan-European flexibility needs assessment. The assessment, expected to be published in July 2027, will be based on the methodology currently being developed by the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E) and DSO Entity.
The Expert Group supports ACER in the development of a robust analytical tool to complete this assessment.
