University course. I was one of two programmers in a team of 11 students and we made the game in Unity.
I was in charge of the backend of an RPG where you gather and craft wares to sell to NPC customers. My system took care of generating customers, managing their dialogs, generating orders for the player to fulfill, kept frontend fed with relevant data and triggered changes using events.
The dialog system was very flexible, able to show and hide dialog options based on modular conditions and was basically a state machine.
I made sure to expose the tools needed for the other disciplines as early as possible while using placeholder systems for many things so that my teammates could create content while I fleshed out the backend systems in tandem. This allowed us to work efficiently and prevented content designers to have to wait for programmers to completely finish before they could do work.
University course where I was the only programmer in a team of 5 students of different disciplines. We made an atmospheric first person puzzle game in Unity.
My code included inventory handling, interaction with puzzle objects in the game, object high-lighting and inspection, and a customized character controller.
