Puzzle Game, Android
Self-PublishedSolo developer on Scooch, a puzzle game on Android.
Note: Due to changes to the Google Play Store terms of use in 2024 I am required to post my full physical home address onto the store-front. This is of course unacceptable. Instead find the game on itch.io!
Tools used were mainly Game Maker Studio, PyxelEdit, GIMP, and Audacity. I marketed it through ads on Facebook and Google, and through an active social media presence on Facebook, Twitter and Google+.
The game itself is a remake of a puzzle game I made in QBasic in my early teens, where the goal is to rearrange bricks on a board until they match a specific pattern. You do this by scrolling rows and columns back and forth, "scooching" the animal bricks along. You can watch the trailer for it on Google Play (link further down).
Inclusiveness in a puzzle game about pushing animals around? Wouldn't be me if I didn't try! Apart from a game being full of rainbows, the names of the animals living in the different worlds are roughly equal counts male and female. It also has color-blind support!
Suitably goofy trailer, visible on the store page and social media platforms.
