CALL IN RADIO SHOW
Host: Hello, everyone, and welcome to the show. We have a very special guest that we are going to be able to talk to today and discuss all the events that have been going on in his life. Today we will welcome our guest Rama who has had quite an adventure throughout his life and is willing to share with us his perspective on the different events that have taken place in his life.
Right about now we are going to have Rama share his story so let's give him a call real quick. Hey, Rama, you are on the air and have many anxious listeners eager to hear your story. Go ahead and start from when you met the love of your life.
Rama: Well, first off, I would like to thank you for having me and allowing me to speak on your show. It is quite an honor. When I first saw the love of my life, Sita, it was love at first sight. I realized I had never saw true beauty until I laid my eyes upon her. Thankfully, I was able to win her over by bending her bow which really caught her eye. I did everything in my power to try and capture the attention of this elegant woman, because in that moment, I wanted no one else, but her. After breaking the bow, I was quickly gifted another bow by Parashurama who gave me a bow of the god Vishnu. I was very excited and proud of my accomplishments, but I was definitely feeling much more confident with my chances with Sita.
Host: That is a pretty impressive way to win over a girl, Rama. I am happy for you and your wife. Now, what happened to cause you to go to exile for 14 years?
Rama: Well, Kaikeyi had the power to manipulate Dasharatha, so she forced Dasharatha to exile me even though he knew it was very much wrong. Did I want to go to exile? No, I did not. But I was willing to as long as my beloved Sita joined me.
Host: Wow! I don't know how you agreed to those terms. It doesn't seem very fair. I guess as long as you're with the love of your life, that is all you need. I am sure you time in exile is too much to talk about, but how was it when you finally got out?
Rama: My exile actually fulfilled a curse that was cast upon King Dasharatha a long time ago, so he ended up dying because of my exile. Not too long into exile, a demon woman came into contact with me and attempted to seduce me. I had to tell her I was already taken so she tried to seduce my brother Lakshmana, but he rejected her too. Because of this, she summoned an entire army to kill us, but we managed to easily kill her whole army. Sadly, she was able to escape and tell her dangerous brother Ravana what had happened. This is when things took a turn for the worst. Ravana challenged me, but already had a plan in place to distract me from my wife while he stole her away from me and kidnapped her. I have never felt so terrible for letting my wife get taken from me. I cried for days on end wondering how to get her back. I met up with a monkey named Sugriva and we agreed to work together. I was very determined to find my wife and get the love of my life back again.
Host: Oh wow, Rama, I am very sorry to hear that happened to your wife. We are going to take a short break, but when we come back, we will hear all about what happened next on Rama's great adventure. Stay with us folks, and we will be right back.
Author's Note: After doing a Radio Show format for my last story, I decided to do it again because I really like the format of it. I like how the host can keep the flow of the conversation going and lead into new ideas or different stories while Rama can just sit back and tell his side of the story. I want the audience to stay on their toes and stay interested with the stories from Rama's point of view by having the host interject and shine a bit of commentary here and there so it's not just all Rama talking the whole time. I may want to incorporate some callers as well to give some perspective on how the audience feels about this situation. Possibly, as the story goes on, I can have Ravana come on air and give his side of the story since these two are now enemies. This would shine some new light and we would be able to see both sides of the story and why each of them are doing what they are doing. I thought Rama was a great character to lead with this radio show because he has a lot of juicy stories and is a very strong character and is very well-liked by the community.
