BREAKING NEWS
Reporter: This just in, we have inside information from a god named Brahma who has been personally involved in the violent events with the crazy murderer, Ravana. I have word that we will be able to hear from the god himself on why and how all these criminal acts have been occurring recently. Brahma, what started all of this ruckus?
Brahma: It all started when a boy called Ravana was born. When he grew up, he petitioned me to be invincible. I agreed to give him immortal nectar except to humans because Ravana never thought humans were powerful enough to kill him. Ravana then grew up and met a person named Shiva who he found interest in and became a follower. Ravana had a son with Mandodari and named him Meghanada. This is when things began to get a little unpleasant.
Reporter: What happened after Ravana had the new son to make things worse?
Brahma: The son made himself invisible in one of his battles and captured Indra, king of the Devas. I ordered him to let the king go in exchange for a granted wish. The son asked for immortality but I refused to grant him that. Instead, I granted him with invincible weapons. After this, Ravana went on a rampage and began striking fear in everyone. He went and defeated Yama, god of death. Then, Ravana killed another king, Marutta, and all his priests.
Reporter: Did anyone try and stop Ravana?
Brahma: Yes, Ravana's half-brother, Kubera, attempted to send a messenger to tell Ravana to stop all these attacks, but this only enraged Ravana more and he cut the head off the messenger. Ravana then marched to Kubera's home and defeated him as well. Sadly, we haven't touched on one of the worst things he has done.
Reporter: What might be that be?
Brahma: He found a beautiful woman named Rambha in the woods and couldn't control himself and raped her. From then on, he became even more monstrous and continued to slay kings and anyone who stood in his way. Ravana needed to be stopped at all costs.
Reporter: Did you do anything about Ravana? How did you go about stopping this madman?
Brahma: I decided to come up with a plan to end his reign of terror. Since I made Ravana invincible to everyone except humans, my only option was to get a human to kill Ravana. My plan was to distract Ravana while the human I have found, Dakshesh, goes and sneaks up and kills Ravana with a special bow and arrow I have gifted him. I picked Dakshesh because he already has a specialty in archery, so I knew he was the right man for the job.
Reporter: When and where did you plan your attack on Ravana?
Brahma: I decided to attack Ravana the night following a battle he had just fought in so he was tired. He was camped out in the woods on a foggy night. I decided to sneak up to his tent knowing he would hear me. He then heard me and snuck out the back of the tent and held a sword to me, asking me my business here. I proceeded to tell him all the wrongful things he had done in his past and everyone who he had killed and that he had gone too far and needed to be stopped. Ravana proceeded to laugh in my face at the fact that he was invincible and could not be killed. I then laughed back at him and told him I granted his wish but made it to where humans were the only ones that could kill him. At that time, his giddy expression left his face and Dakshesh shot the arrow from afar which pierced straight through his heart and he was slain that night.
Reporter: Wow! That is some breaking news which will affect all of us! Do you feel any regret?
Brahma: As much as I hated killing him, it needed to be done. Now more people can live in peace and without fear.
Reporter: Well, you heard it here first. That was the interesting report of all the horrid things Ravana has done recently. I am so glad we were able to have Brahma here with us to tell us his side of the story. Now your families should be safer and not have to fear for your lives as much. Thank you to everyone who tuned in with us today!
Author's Note: I decided to take the beginning pages of the stories of Ravana and keep the originality but turn these stories into an interview with the god Brahma who granted Ravana his wishes which turned him into the monster he is now. All the events happened as in the original story but are just told from an interview setting. Once I ended the normal story, I proceeded to add my own little twist to the story. I had Brahma be the hero of the story that brought justice to Ravana by getting revenge for so many that despised Ravana for his actions. I had Brahma speak in an interview setting on how he went about killing Ravana. I wanted to keep the originality of the story but then have a major spin on the end to make the reader develop a hatred for Ravana throughout the interview and then feel justice when Brahma goes on about how he carried out his revenge for many others. I decided to choose this picture below because it is a picture of Ravana himself which is basically who this entire story is about. The picture goes on to show how scary and muscular Ravana is and how many should have feared his presence.
