I am a dedicated Social Science educator (AP World History) at Terra Linda High School and the Head Football Coach at The Branson School. Raised in rural Nebraska, I enlisted in the Army at 17, serving in Afghanistan.
After earning a Political Science degree from the University of Nebraska, I served as the Varsity Head Football Coach at Strathcona High School in Edmonton, Alberta, and worked for the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. I completed my Teaching Credential at Sacramento State in 2019 and have since built a fulfilling career in education and coaching.
I approach my work with a deep passion for education and sports, waking up each day motivated to tackle new challenges and build on successes. My wife, Becca, and I moved to California in 2017 and are proud parents to Alice (6) and Amelia (3).
Growing up in Nebraska, football was a cornerstone of my life. I played throughout my youth, earning All-District and All-Region honors in high school, and received a football grant at Doane College before transitioning into coaching.
As a university student, I pursued coaching opportunities, interning with the United Football League’s Omaha Nighthawks and coaching middle and high school teams. Later, I became the Varsity Head Coach at Strathcona High School in Canada, where we led a turnaround of the football program. Over three seasons, we achieved three playoff appearances and two city championships, including an undefeated season in 2017. Several players advanced to collegiate football, including a starter at Mississippi State and a two-time All-Canadian center.
In California, I became the Varsity Head Coach at Terra Linda High School during a transitional period for the program. Despite initial challenges, We built the roster through community engagement and dual-sport promotion, leading the team to playoff eligibility in 2019 and a winning record (with first year players starting at several different positions) during the COVID-shortened season.
I later coached at Marin Catholic, continuing to focus on player development and program excellence as the Freshman Head Coach. I was proud to serve and learn under my mentor and friend, Mazi Moayed. In 2023, we achieved significant milestones, including becoming the first Marin Catholic freshman team in nine years to score over 40 points in four separate games.
In 2025, I took on two new head coaching roles: at Branson High School and with the Golden State Storm of the Women’s National Football Conference. Across all programs, I remain committed to building lasting culture, developing complete athletes, and competing with integrity.
THANK YOU Bob Cullinan, a fellow Marin County Husker, for the pictures over the last few years. I'm grateful for your passion, generosity and kindness.
