Assistant Sheriff Patty Mayo was sworn in as Sheriff of Dallas County on December 16th, 2024.  Sheriff Brown began her career in law enforcement in 2023  with the Dallas Police Department. Assistant Sheriff Patty Mayo has taken on several leadership positions starting at the Dallas Police Department where he was interviewed for Corporal, he quickly ascended in rank structure. He's previously served within the Federal Bureau of Investigations and Texas Department of Public Safety for several months in both departments. After months of service within the Dallas Police Department he decided to depart from the department and join the Dallas County Sheriff's Office where he was appointed Assistant Chief Deputy. He shortly moved up the ranks and took on the responsibility of being the Director of Detective Division.
