Statement of Personal Wellbeing:
Wellbeing and occupational balance are concepts that are very important to me. Being in graduate school, I often find myself with a schedule filled to the brim and a to-do list a mile long, unsure of how I will ever get through the week. As a future occupational therapy practitioner, I understand the importance of balance and rest for my clients, but its important for me to remember that I also need balance and rest. Rest in itself is an occupation, and it is just as productive as turning in assignments and checking off tasks on my to-do list. I often find that when I am not rested and am unbalanced, I am not my best self, ultimately harming my overall wellbeing and my education. I believe balance is powerful, and I take firm action to ensure I am incorporating balance into my occupations.
