The Dallastown Area High School MCJROTC is a completely cadet run battalion. The battalion operates off of a rank system that is similar to that of the United States Marine Corps. Each year, the Senior Marine Instructor appoints and elects a new cadet staff that will serve in leadership roles ranging from the Commanding Officer to various staff sections. These cadets serve in these roles for an entire school year.
