The NOMIRRDEN

The NOMIRRDEN or the Northern Mindanao Regional Research, Development and Extension Network is a collaboration of agriculture and fisheries research for development institutions in Region 10, bringing together researchers, farmers, and communities in nurturing science and innovation in the region.

The Logo. Each element of the logo weaves together a story of growth, unity and resilience, inspired by the rich tapestry of Northern Mindanao’s agricultural environment. The surrounding icons of fish and crops represents its abundance in the region; the livestock animals and machineries signify the farmers' strength and power; the laboratory apparatus represents the research endeavors; and the soil, along with the dominance of the colors green and orange/gold represent the science, life and vibrance of the agriculture sector.

Pursuant to DA Memorandum Circular 02 Series of 2024 - the Implementing Guideliens on the Institutionalization of the Agriculture and Fisheries Resources Research and Extension for Development Network (AFRREDN) - or the NOMIRRDEN for the Northern Mindanao Region shall serve as the major partnership mechanism for AF R4DE stakeholders such as national government agencies, state colleges/ universities, local government units ( LGUs), and private institutions as well as the Farmers Cooperatives and Associations ( FCAs). It shall provide an avenue of downstreaming critical and relevant policies and interventions from National R4DE institutions through stronger and direct collaborations between and among the AFRREDN members as necessitated by the local industry needs. This is in pursuit of delivering R4DE programs and services that are relevant, inclusive, well -coordinated, complemented, and effectively carried out.

Legal basis of the Agri-Fisheries Regional Research Network:

•DA Memo Circular No. 02 Series of 2024 as approved on January 18, 2024: Implementing Guidelines on the Institutionalization of Agri-Fisheries Resources, Research and Extension for Development Network (AFRREDN)

DA RFO-10 as the Network lead:

a.Manage the overall operations of the Network (with 19 member-agencies in Region 10);

b.Appraise membership of research agencies to the Network;

c.Host/allocate RR4DEN office to be strategically located within the DA-RFO premises.

BAR and ATI as the Oversight:

a.Guide in the identification of regional R4DE priorities, plans and programs

b.Spearhead the development of mechanisms, guidelines, and systems for effective coordination and planning of R4DE programs;

c.Conduct periodic assessment of the RR4DEN’s performance and accomplishment reports; and

d.Assess and provide funding support to prioritized network activities
